The Linksys WUSB6300 AC1200 Wireless-AC USB Adapter and the Linksys WUSB6300 v2 Dual-Band WiFi 5 USB Adapter feature the Wireless-AC technology that upgrades your computer to the latest Wi-Fi standard. It can provide a faster and more reliable internet connection with speeds of up to 867 Mbps on the 5 GHz band.

The following are the parts of the Linksys WUSB6300 adapter:
- USB plug – Connect this end to any available USB port on your computer
- Power / Status LED – Lights up or flashes depending on the current activity of the device
- WPS / Security LED – Lights up or flashes depending on the current activity of the device
- Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ (WPS) button – Press this button and the WPS button on your router or access point to connect your computer to the Wi-Fi. This is only found on the Linksys WUSB6300 v1 and not on v2.

The Linksys WUSB6300 v1 is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista®, Windows Vista 64-bit, Windows 7, Windows 7 64-bit, Windows 8, Windows 8 64-bit, and Windows 10 64-bit.
The Linksys WUSB6300 v2 is compatible with Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10. For Mac OS, it is compatible with OS X® 10.11 to OS X® 10.15 operating systems (OS).
5. What is the USB interface standard used by the Linksys WUSB6300?
The Linksys WUSB6300 utilizes the USB 3.0 standard. However, this is also backward compatible with USB 2.0 ports.

SETUP AND INSTALLATION
1. How do I set up the Linksys WUSB6300?
You will need to download and install the latest drivers from the Linksys WUSB6300 Downloads page before using the adapter.
The Linksys WUSB6300 v1 comes with a Setup Wizard (CD). Just run the setup CD and follow the on-screen instructions. If your device does not have a CD-ROM drive, you may download the Setup Wizard or standalone drivers from the Linksys WUSB6300 Downloads page.
The Linksys WUSB6300 v2 can be installed using Plug-and-Play Setup for Windows where it will automatically install the drivers if your computer has the latest Windows updates. You can also install it by downloading the latest Setup Utility or standalone drivers for Windows from the Linksys WUSB6300 Downloads page. For OS X, you will need to use the Setup Utility to install the driver which you can also download from the Linksys WUSB6300 Downloads page.
2. How do I unzip the driver file on a Windows computer?
The Windows Setup wizard is a compressed .zip file. After you have downloaded the setup wizard, you will need to extract the file to run it.
3. What should I do if the driver failed to install?
If the driver failed to install, you may update it via the Device Manager. To know how, click here.
If you have an available ethernet cable, you could temporarily plug in your computer to your network to download the drivers or you can use a USB flash drive and download the drivers from another computer that has an internet connection.

For the Linksys WUSB6300 v1, it does have an external WPS button. The Linksys WUSB6300 v2, on the other hand, does not have one but the adapter supports a WPS connection using the native OS wireless utility of your computer.
3. Will the Linksys WUSB6300 work with a non-Wireless-AC router or access point?
Yes. The Linksys WUSB6300 will work with non-Wireless-AC routers or access points because it is also compatible with Wireless-A, B, G, and N standards.
4. Will the Linksys WUSB6300 work with Mac® computers?
Only the Linksys WUSB6300 v2 will work with Mac computers.

TROUBLESHOOTING
The first step you can do is to unplug and re-plug the adapter into the computer’s USB port. You may use another USB port to confirm if the adapter is not being detected by your computer. After plugging the adapter, check the Device Manager to see if the drivers are properly installed.

2. What should I do if my adapter can’t connect to Wi-Fi?
Here are some troubleshooting tips you can do:
- Check if your adapter can receive the Wi-Fi signal of your router. You may need to move closer to the router to increase the signal received by your adapter.
- Enter the correct password of the Wi-Fi network you are connecting to.
- Check if the router has the MAC filtering feature enabled. If the MAC filtering feature is enabled, you should first have the MAC address of your adapter added to the MAC filtering list of the router.
