The Linksys WUSB6300 v2 is a dual-band wireless adapter that can provide high-speed Wi-Fi capability to your Mac® computer.
This adapter is compatible with the following operating systems:
- WUSB6300 v2: OS X® 10.11 (2015 version) to OS X 10.15 (2019 version)
NOTE: The Linksys WUSB6300 v2 is used in this article.
Before proceeding, it is recommended to disable your Mac computer’s built-in Wi-Fi adapter. To do this, click on the Wi-Fi icon and click on Turn Wi-Fi Off.
1. Click on the link below to download the latest setup software or utility for the adapter. You can either connect your computer directly to the modem or router or use a flash drive and download the file from another computer.
2. Look for the file you just downloaded and extract the contents.
3. Double-click on Setup.pkg.
4. Click on Continue.
5. Read the Software License Agreement and click on Continue then click on Agree.
6. Click on Continue Installation.
7. If prompted to enter your login credentials, enter your password and click on Install Software.
8. Click the Restart button to restart your computer.
9. After you have restarted your computer, connect the adapter to an available USB port on your computer.
10. You can now connect the computer to the Wi-Fi. On the menu bar, click the Linksys WUSB6300 v2 Wi-Fi icon (adapter icon with green waves) and select your Wi-Fi network. If the Wi-Fi is secured, enter the Wi-Fi password when prompted and click on Join.
