Overview of the External Storage settings for the Linksys E8450

This article provides an overview of the External Storage settings of the Linksys E8450 AX3200 Dual-Band WiFi 6 Router.

To access this feature, follow the instructions below:

 

1. Access the web interface of your router.

 

2. Go to the Configuration tab.

 

3. Click on External Storage.

 

 

The table below shows the settings that can be configured under External Storage:
 

Feature Description
Storage Management

This screen allows you to adjust your Storage Management settings.  Below is the default view when no external storage device is connected:
 

When an external storage device is connected, you will see the following:
 

 
FTP Server
Before you can enable the FTP server, you must first create one user account in Account Management.  Then, select the drive/partition from the drop-down menu.
 

 
Account Management
To create a user account, click the Enable Account Authentication checkbox.  Then, enter a User Name, Password, select Permissions, and click Add user.  After that, click Save once you're done.

NOTE:  The User Name must only consist of lowercase (a to z) alphanumeric characters.
