This article will teach you how to set up the Linksys SPNMX42AB-UK for Airband ISP WiFi 6 Whole Home Mesh System.

Before you begin:

  • The default WiFi name is Airband_xxxxxx where xxxxxx is the last six digits of the MAC address.
  • The Airband ISP installers will provide the initial setup.
  • Auto Configuration Server (ACS) support – This node supports Automatic Setup via ACS with Airband ISP. Meaning that once the node is plugged into the Airband modem and detects an internet connection, it will automatically configure itself as the parent node. Once the light turns solid blue, the node is set up and online.

NOTE: DO NOT try to set up the node with the Linksys app while the node is going through the ACS setup because the Linksys app will not detect the node.  Wait until the node self-configures and the status light is solid blue.

  • Parent node – A parent node is the Linksys SPNMX42AB-UK connected to your modem.
  • Child node – A child node is another node used to extend your WiFi network, such as another Linksys SPNMX42AB-UK.
  • Admin password - Once the parent node has an internet connection, the default password will automatically change to the default WiFi password located on the product label. A node on factory defaults with no internet connection uses admin as the default password.
  • After setting up, you can then link your Linksys network to your Linksys cloud account using the Linksys app to manage your network from anywhere.

Directions:

1. Connect an ethernet cable from your Airband modem's port to the internet port of the Linksys SPNMX42AB-UK.

2. Power ON your node and wait for the status light to turn solid purple, meaning it is ready for setup. The status light will then begin to flash white; this indicates that the node is going through an ACS setup. Wait until the status light is solid blue. This may take a few minutes. Once the status light is solid blue, the router is ready to use.

3. Now you can connect your mobile devices using the default WiFi name and password located on the product label of the node.

Your node is now set up. To manage your node with the Linksys app, proceed to the steps below.

Linking your Linksys cloud account to the Linksys app

If you want to use the Linksys app to manage your settings from any mobile device, you must link your network to your Linksys cloud account.

1. Download the Linksys app on your
Android™ or iOS device.

Make sure to connect your mobile device to the WiFi name you just created.

2. Tap Manage your Wi-Fi. If you are using an Android device, tap on Log in.

3. Enter your existing Linksys cloud account credentials and then tap Log in. If you do not have an account, tap on Create an account.

4. Tap Add to Account.

5. Enter the default WiFi password located on the product label of the node then tap Add to Account again.

You have now linked your network to your Linksys cloud account. You can now customize your admin password using the Linksys app.
