Setting up your Linksys node by toob ISP

The Linksys SPNMX42TB and SPNMX56TB are Linksys Velop Intelligent Mesh™ routers provided by toob ISP in the United Kingdom.

If you ever need to reset your nodes to factory defaults, this article will guide you on how to set it up again.

Before you begin:

  • The default WiFi name is toob-xxxxxx where xxxxxx is the last six alphanumeric characters of the MAC address. The default WiFi password is located on the product label.
  • Auto Configuration Server (ACS) support - This node supports Automatic Setup via ACS with toob ISP. Meaning that once the node is plugged into the toob modem and detects an internet connection, it will automatically configure itself as the parent node. Once the light turns solid blue, the node is set up and online.
DO NOT try to set up the node with the Linksys app while the node is going through the ACS setup because the Linksys app will not detect the node. Wait until the node self-configures and the status light is solid blue.

  • Parent node - The Linksys SPNMX42TB or SPNMX56TB connected to your modem.
  • Child node - A child node is another node used to extend your WiFi network. The child node can be wireless or wired.
  • After setting up, you can then link your WiFi to your Linksys cloud account using the Linksys app to manage your network from anywhere.

Directions:

1. Connect an ethernet cable from your toob modem's port to the internet port of the Linksys SPNMX42TB or SPNMX56TB.

2. Power ON your node and wait for the status light to turn solid purple, meaning it is ready for setup. The status light will then begin to flash white; this indicates that the node is going through an ACS setup. Wait until the status light is solid blue. This may take a few minutes. Once the status light is solid blue, the router is ready to use.

3. Connect your devices using the default WiFi name, which is toob-xxxxxx, and the password located on the product label of the node.

Your node is now set up. To manage your node with the Linksys app, proceed to the steps below.

Linking your Linksys cloud account to the Linksys app

If you want to use the Linksys app to manage your settings from any mobile device, you must link your network to your Linksys cloud account.

1. Download the Linksys app on your
Android™ or iOS device and make sure to connect your mobile device to the WiFi name you just created.

2. On your device, launch the Linksys app and tap Manage Your Wi-Fi. For Android, tap Log in.

3. You will receive a prompt to log in using your Linksys cloud account. Enter the required credentials and tap on Log in

If you don't have an account yet, tap on Create an account if you're using iOS or Create an Email Login for Android devices and follow the on-screen prompts to create your account.

4. Tap Add to Account.

5. Enter the default WiFi password located on the product label of the node then tap Add to Account again. The password is case-sensitive. You can change the WiFi password after you log in with the app.

You have now linked your network to your Linksys cloud account. You can now customize your WiFi password and admin password using the Linksys app.

To customize the router’s password, tap on the menu icon and tap on Network Administration. Select Change Router Password and Hint and customize your router’s password (case-sensitive). Once done, tap Save.

The router’s password is the local administrative password that you can only use when you are connected to your Linksys WiFi network. This is also useful in situations where the Linksys cloud is down. Make sure to write down your passwords.
