The router password, also known as admin password, is used to access the LinksysSmartWiFi.com page. If you changed or forgot your Linksys router’s password, you can no longer retrieve it. If you need the router password for a specific reason, you will need to reset the router to its default settings. Follow the steps below to properly reset your router.
NOTE: The default Linksys Smart WiFi Router password is admin.

1. Disconnect the ethernet cable that connects your router to the modem.
2. Locate the Reset button of your router. Using a pen or a paper clip, press and hold the Reset button for 10 seconds.
NOTE: The location of your router's Reset button may vary depending on the model of your Linksys router. The Linksys EA7500 v3 is used in the example below.
3. Observe the power light on the router while pressing the button. When you see the light blink or flash, release the button. This indicates that the router is resetting properly.
4. Unplug the router from the power outlet for 30 seconds. Plug it back and wait for the power light to be solid.
